organised chaos - The Journey of Lines
The Journey of Lines
‘Within the appearance of chaos, there exist an unforeseen energy
that connects us and the universe.’
Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is a city full of
colourful vibes and vibrant energy. As I made my way through the city either by
bus or walking along its many streets and lanes, one thing that stood out was
the never-ending lines of cable wires seen everywhere, gracing all its many
streets and lanes, interlocking buildings and tree branches. These cables co-exist together in harmony
with the ever-growing tree branches.
These chaotic cable lines, even though they look very messy
and unorganised, they are well connected to allow the Thai people communicate
with each other for generations. The series of artworks represent and capture
the beauty of this organised chaos. The different colours as seen in the
different artworks signify the different day the images were captured.
According to the Thai believes, each day is represented by one colour which
symbolizes their everyday lives. In addition, the two grey pieces reflect my
own expression and interpretation of this phenomena.
